Raymond Kohrt, 77, formerly of Clinton, passed away April 12th, 2008 at Alta Vista Health Care Center, Riverside, California after a lingering illness. Raymond Kohrt was born at Jane Lamb Hospital, Clinton, Iowa, January 18th, 1931, son of the late Henry and Catharina (Nickelsen) Kohrt. Raymonds biggest enjoyment in life was being around family, playing cards, and he loved food, going to many different types of restaurants. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Clinton, Raymond was a veteran of the Korean War in 1952 1954. He worked for Allied Structural Steel for 25 years. He was a loving father and grandfather. Survivors include two children, Karen Irvine, and Mark (Yvonne) Kohrt, and two grandsons, Lee and Darrell Irvine, all from California; one brother Carl (Marie) Kohrt, of Clarence; two sisters Lucille Ingwersen, of DeWitt and Elizabeth Bartels, of Monticello; and his dear friend Clara of Clinton; other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM on Saturday, April 19th, 2008, at The Lemke Funeral Home, South Chapel, Clinton. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
