Rex Allan Graham, 71, of Bellevue, passed away October 29, 2017, at Finley Hospital, Dubuque.A Christian Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 3 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Visitation for Rex will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, in Bellevue and again Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.Rex was born September 3, 1946, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Harold Graham and Virginia (Barry) Link. He married Judy Griebel on June 25, 1971, at St. John Lutheran Church. Rex graduated from Dubuque Senior High School, Class of 1964. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve. He found his career at John Deere Dubuque Works, where he retired as a Senior Designer after 35 years. But anyone who knew Rex knew his true passion was farming, which started at a young age. As a boy, he would spend summers on his Grandpa (Crawdad) Grahams farm. Rex and Judy later purchased the Griebel farm north of Bellevue which Rex farmed until his passing. He loved the town of Bellevue and to him it was Gods country. Rex enjoyed talking with friends. He always had a smile on his face and a joke (or two) to tell. Above all, his family meant the most to him. His wife Judy was his rock, and his three daughters were his pride and joy. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed giving them tractor rides on the farm. His love and support were endless, and he will be deeply missed by all. Those left to honor his memory include his wife Judy; daughters: Becky (Craig) Christensen of Des Moines, Trisha (Christian) Quijano of Des Moines, and Debbie (Matt) Pogemiller of Iowa City; four grandchildren: Gehrig Christensen, Julian and Vivienne Quijano, and Owen Pogemiller; mother: Virginia Link; sister: Ann (Bob) Buol; brother: Jerry Link; uncle: Burt (Dora) Graham; aunt: Gloria Hocking; and in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Harold, sister Donna Clauer, step-father Roger Link, father- and mother-in-law Royal and Vera Griebel, and brothers-in-law Sam Patterson and Dennis Clauer. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Finley Hospital, especially Dr. Ronald Schope and Megan Bergfeld, R.N. for the care and compassion shown to Rex.
