Richard Lampe, 87, of Bellevue, died Friday, January 21, 2011 at Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Richard will be held from 4:00 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service and again Tuesday morning after 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Richard was born on July 11, 1923 in Bellevue, son of William & Anna (Haxmeier) Lampe. He married Velma Tebbe on October 9, 1945 in Springbrook. Richard was employed with Jackson County as a Heavy Equipment Operator for over 43 years. He was enlisted with the United States Army and a member of the American Legion Post #273. He was a member of the Bellevue Fire Department for 19 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening. Most important was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 65 years, Velma; four children, Peggy Cox, of Flagstaff, Arizona, Pat (Leonard) Clark, of Clear Lake, Iowa, Susan (Warren) Crouch, of Bellevue, and Rick (Pam) Lampe, of Monroe, Georgia; ten grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; Also surviving are two brothers, Larry (Marietta) and Norb (Linda) Lampe and three sisters, Helen Daugherty, Mary Sturm and Marcella 'Babe' Junk. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Mercedes Herrig. The family would like to thank Larry Lampe, the staff at Mill Valley Care Center, and the Bellevue Ambulance for all the special care shown to Richard.
