Rita Margaret Roling, 88, of Bellevue, peacefully passed away Monday morning, May 14, 2012 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Rita will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service and again on Wednesday morning after 9:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Rita was born on December 26, 1923 in Rural Bellevue to Dominic and Florence (Weis) Kilburg. On April 24, 1947 she married Raymond J. Roling; they shared 52 wonderful years together. He passed away November 4, 1999. Rita was very devoted to her family, friends, and community. In her early years she farmed with her husband in the Spragueville and Sugar Creek area. In 1955 they bought a farm north of Bellevue. After retiring in 1984 Rita and Ray moved to town. Rita was extremely devoted to her church and Christian Faith. She was a member of St. Josephs Parish and its Rosary Society. She was very generous with her time volunteering at Mill Valley Care Center, American Legion Auxiliary, Quilting Missions and 46 years at the St. Joseph /Marquette Hot Lunch Program. Rita is survived by a son, Ron (Patricia) , of Bellevue; two daughters, Bonnie (Tom) Bruck, of Zwingle, and Peggy (Tom) Manderscheid, of Maquoketa; son in-law, Nicholas Hoffmann, of Walnut, Iowa; 15grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; six brothers, Alvin, of Bellevue, Earl (Katie), of Preston, Lloyd, of Maquoketa, Ken (Jean), Leo (Janis), and Vince (Judy) all of Bellevue; four sisters, Marcella Banowetz, of DeWitt, Edna Reuter, and Vera (Levi) Schmidt, both of Maquoketa and Dula (Leon) Tebbe, of Bellevue. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Barbara Hoffmann May 14, 2011; and two brothers, Albert and Vernon. The family would like to thank Hospice of Jackson County as well as Ritas many visitors the past weeks for their special care and compassion, it is greatly appreciated.
