Robert 'Bob' Hutchcroft

Robert Hutchcroft Sr., 84, of Bellevue, passed away Saturday Evening, February 20, 2016, at his home in Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, February 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and again Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 at Hachmann funeral home in Bellevue. Burial will be at a later date in the Parish Cemetery. Robert was born January 7, 1932, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of James and Nora (Urbain) Hutchcroft. He enlisted in the Army, in service to his country. While stationed in Germany, he met and married the love of his life Helene (Sedlak). They where married August 1, 1953 in Germany. Bob was a kind and generous man of few words. He truly enjoyed doing for others while always ensuring his family wanted for not. Bob was accomplished in many trades over the course of his life. Most notable was his ownership of Bob's Standard and Marine on Riverview in Bellevue. After selling the business to his sons Bob and John he took the position as grounds keeper at the Bellevue Golf Course. He worked diligently to maintain the grounds in prime condition. After retiring from the golf course he worked alongside Del Pooler in maintaining the Brush Dale Farm, Hunting Preserve and Kennel. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Helene. Five children, Monika (Jeff) Hilleary, of Sedona, Arizona, Bob (Deb) of Bellevue, John (Kris) of Davenport, Jim (Norma) of Maplewood, Minnesota, and Maneka (Jesse) Bryant of Bellevue. 10 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, James (Eulaine) Hutchcroft, John (Sandy) Hutchcroft, Georgia (Jim) Willging and Joan Hickson.
