Robert J. ''Bob'' Koos

Robert Bob J. Koos , 78 of La Motte, IA passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Mill Valley Care Center Bellevue, IA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, May 6, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will take place in the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in La Motte. Visitation for Bob will be from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Tuesday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bellevue and again Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 9:30am at the funeral home. Robert was born April 16, 1937 in La Motte, son of LeRoy and Mary (Kilburg) Koos. He was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School in LaMotte and attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Bob farmed most of his life, but his passion was Steam Engines. He enjoyed firing up his own engine with fellow enthusiasts and in later years he attended numerous Steam Engine Shows. Those left to honor his memory include his two brothers, Gerald (Betty) Koos, of Bellevue and Lloyd (Mary) Koos, of LaMotte; sister in-law, Rita Mohr, of Dubuque; 13 nieces and nephews; and an aunt, Loretta (Clasen) Koos, of Dubuque. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Aloysius Koos; brother in-law, Albert Bud Mohr; god-daughter, Janet Koos; and great nephew, Christopher Koos. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Dr. Hunter and the staff at Mill Valley Care Center for their comfort and compassion at the time of our loss.
