Robert E. Wallace

Robert E. Wallace, 88, of Bellevue, died Thursday, October 7, 2010 at his home in Bellevue. A Funeral Service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue, officiated by Pastor Paul Gammelin. Masonic rites will be offered at 10:30, Friends may greet the family from 10:30 to 1:00 p.m. Monday morning at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 273. Robert was born January 4, 1922 in Skagway, Alaska, the son of Earl E. and Martha P. (Joy) Wallace. He married Mary Jane Bradley on July 4, 1942 in Nashua, Iowa. Mary Jane Passed away, July 30, 2003 After Serving in the Army over seas, he returned home to continue his education. He was employed by Flexsteel Industries retiring in 1984 as Plant Engineer. After retirement he continued to consult for Flexsteel. Those left to honor his memory include his son, David and daughter in-law Mary Lou Wallace, of Bellevue; a granddaughter, Shawn Renee (Vincent) Mohr; two great grandsons, Joshua and Nathan (Andrea) Mohr; four great great grandchildren, Ayden, Faith, Grace, and Angolie; two sisters, Dorothy Hassenyeager, and Doris Goodrich; and a half sister, Carol Murphy.
