Roberta Ann Obermann, 78, of Bellevue, Iowa, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, March 1, 2016, at her home, in Bellevue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, March 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Bellevue. Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday evening at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service and again Saturday morning 9:00 to 10:00 am also at the funeral home. Roberta was born on August 31, 1937 shortly after her twin brother to Matthew & Elizabeth Cain of rural Preston, Iowa. She was the youngest of eleven children. Roberta grew up on the family farm and graduated from Northeast Goose Lake High School in 1955. She attended nursing school afterwards in Marshalltown, IA and married Milton Obermann of Andrew, Iowa on February 15, 1958. Roberta and Milton moved from Andrew to the family farm in 1962, and raised seven children on the family farm. Roberta cherished life in the country and working along side her husband and children. She was particularly fond of gardening and taking care of the many farm cats, dogs, and other livestock. Calving season was a special time for Roberta as she dearly enjoyed helping bring the new calves into the world. Roberta also greatly enjoyed canning her gardens produce, baking pies, and providing for her family. Most dear to Roberta were her seven children and twelve grandchildren. Roberta is survived by her husband of 58 years, Milton, and her brother Francis (Betty), brother Robert (Joan), and sisters Angela McMahon, Cecilia Sullivan, and Kathryn Caron. Roberta is also survived by her daughter Theresa (Tim) Hoffman and granddaughter Megan; son Jim (Deb) and grandson Ben and granddaughter Lauren; daughter Mary (Dan) Johnson and grandsons Nathaniel & Gabe and granddaughter Claire; son Elmer; son Joe (Rebecca) and granddaughter Kelsey and grandsons Tyler, Matthew, and Jack; daughter Christina (Brian) Berthel and grandson Ryan and granddaughter Sarah; and son Milton. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Edward and Raymond, and sisters Mary Margaret, Eileen, and Maureen.
