Roger Lyle Ties, 51, of Bellevue, died, Monday, July 14, 2008, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home and again, Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30 until service time. Roger was born on May 10, 1957, in Bellevue, son of Lyle and Mary Ann (Ernst) Ties. He married Sandy Sieverding on November 5, 1977 in Bellevue. He farmed for over 25 years, for the past few years he has been employed at Alcoa in Davenport. He was a quiet gentle man who loved his family. His grandson, Colton meant the world to him. He was an avid tractor puller. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Roger will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Sandy Ties, of Bellevue; three children, Travis Ties, of Bellevue, Robyn (Daren) Gabriel, of Houghton, Ia, and Kara Ties, of Bellevue; a grandson, Colton Gabriel; Parents, Lyle and Mary Ann Ties, of Bellevue; two brothers, Larry (Susan) Ties, of Bellevue, Daryl (Julie) Ties, of Maquoketa; and a sister, Carol (Clyde) Sprank, of Bellevue. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father-in-law, Gerald Sieverding; and nephew, Scott Sieverding. In Lieu of flowers a Roger Ties Memorial Fund has been established.
