Rose Mary Rosie Michels , 84, of Bellevue, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, September 23, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Rose Mary will be held from 2:00 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service and again on Monday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rose Mary was born on September 10, 1929 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Nicholas and Mary Caroline (Fischer) Mootz. She married Marvin Michels on October 12, 1948 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Rosie worked at Mill Valley Care Center for 15 years as a dietitian. She was a member of the young at hearts card club and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Rosie spent a lot of her time cooking, baking, quilting, playing cards, and gardening. She was well known for her homemade noodles, salsa, and great sense of humor. She also enjoyed the many parties that were held at Rosies Bottom with her family and friends whom were all very important to her. Rosie will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she has touched. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, of 65 years, Marvin; four children, Darrell, Dennis (Robin)Michels, Karen (Mark) Jess, and Mark (Ann) Michels, all of Bellevue; two daughters in-law, Lori Michels, of Bellevue, and Marilyn Michels, of Dubuque; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister in-law, Dubby Mootz-Goldsmith; and Marvins siblings, Orville, Lester (Leanna), Arlene McGinnis, Kenny, Norma (Billy) Casel, Larry (Joyce) and Bob (Kelma).
