Harold Rus Caughron, 69, of Cuba City, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016.A Memorial Service for Harold, will be held at 6:00pm, Wednesday evening, January 4 at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Harold was born on July 22, 1947 in High Point, North Carolina, son of Loren and Dolores Caughron. As a child and a young man, Harold traveled often and lived in many different places as his father was a Chief in the Navy. Harold lived in Washington, California, Florida, and Guam, just to name a few. As an adult, Harold traveled to Scotland, England, and Wales. Harold earned his Masters Degree in English Literature and History from the University of Florida. Harold went on to become an editor, writer, and indexer. He worked primarily in the college textbook publishing industry, where he was highly respected due to his vast knowledge across numerous disciplines.Harold was known for his intelligence and sense of humor. He was passionate in the pursuit of knowledge and fervently sought out books and movies to broaden his intellect. His collection of books and movies would put any collector to shame.Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Dolores Caughron.Those left to honor his memory include his two daughters, Catherine (Tony) Furlin and Elizabeth Caughron (Tyler Weimerskirch); as well as three grandchildren, Alexandria, Blake, and Cole.The Family would like to thank all of our family and friends for the support they have provided during this difficult time.
