Ruth W. Babe Naegle, 82, of DeWitt, passed away Tuesday, February 26th, 2008 at the Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport. Ruth was born May 20th, 1925, in Clear Lake, Iowa, daughter of the late William F. and Nydia (Kern) Paul. She married Donald J. Kueter in 1942 in Bellevue. He preceded her in death on January 2nd, 1964. She later married Joseph C. Naegle in 1968 in Sherrill, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 24th, 1997. Ruth was a farmer all her life. She understood the values of hard work and enjoyed traveling, ironing, gardening and flowers. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was proud to have been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Bellevue for 60 years. Survivors include her two sons, William (Deborah) Kueter, of Swisher, Steven (Julie) Kueter of Coggon; one step-daughter, Jill (Gary) Davis, Maquoketa; four grandchildren, Kris (Kirk) Lindsly, Kathy Kilburg, Jeffrey (Tracy) Kueter, Amanda (Kevin) Allexon; seven great grandchildren, Rachel, Matthew, Blake and Megan Lindsly, Joseph and Katherine Kueter, Grace Allexon; one brother, James Paul of Phoenix AZ; one son-in-law, Darwin Kilburg of DeWitt and several special nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husbands, Donald and Joseph she was preceded in death by one daughter, Judith Kilburg; one grand-daughter, Tammy Kilburg; one brother, George Paul and two sisters, Lois Hansen and Margie Gray. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11 AM Saturday, March 1st, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeWitt. The Rev. Fr. Bob Harness will preside. Burial will be at 3 PM on Saturday in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 PM at the Lemke Funeral Home, 226 Eleventh Street, DeWitt, and again on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of Mass at the Church.
