Sandra L. Brockhage, 82, of Bellevue, Passed away Wednesday evening, May 11, 2016 at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. A Funeral Service for Sandy will be held at 11:00am, Monday, May 16 at the First Presbyterian Church in Bellevue. A visitation will be from 9:30 until 11:00 prior to the services also at the church. Sandra was born in Bellevue, Iowa, on Jan. 3, 1934, daughter of Mahlon and Mildred Hyler. She attended Bellevue Community Grade School as well as High School. In 1954 she was married to Roliffe Latta and together they had 4 sons. She later married George Bevan and they raised the boys on the farm in Bellevue for 22 years before he passed. In 1990 she and Bob Brockhage were married in Bellevue where they resided until he passed. Sandy had an interest in music and art. She also enjoyed bowling and canoeing. Her and George had an antique store in downtown Bellevue for several years. She worked at Bellevue Community School where she assisted special ed kids for many years. After that she managed the Bellevue Community Senior Citizen Center for several years. She was an active member of Eastern Star and Triangle Art Club. She is survived by her four sons - Mickey Latta (Carol) of Mesa, AZ, Jan Latta (Mary) of Oklahoma City, OK, David Latta (Susan) of Plymouth, MN and Shane Latta of Mesa, AZ, 5 grandchildren Tiffany, Robin, Greg, Andrea and Kelsey and 5 great grandchildren Samantha, Adalynn, Lucas, Emmerick and Quinn. She is also survived by 2 Sisters-in-Law, Margaret Hyler and Sally Hyler. She was preceded in death by her 2 brothers - Gary Hyler, Mesa, AZ and Gerald Hyler, Correctionvillie, IA.
