Sue R. Deppe, 72, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully, Thursday afternoon, August 20, 2015, at her home, with her sister, Cleta by her side. A Funeral Service for Sue will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, August 24, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation for Sue will be held from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Sue was was born on April 6, 1943 at the Bellevue Hospital. She was the eldest daughter of Cletus and Florence (Ernst) Deppe. She graduated from Tete des Morts #3 country school and Marquette High in 1961. After graduating, Sue worked on her parents farm for four years. Then she worked at Stampfers department store and Moracco Supper Club for many years. In 1968 she began employment at Interstate Power Company/Alliant Energy and continued there for over 33 years retiring in 2001. After retirement, Sue worked at Kalmes Restaurant in St. Donatus. Sue loved to travel, bake, garden, collect antiques, including tractors, stamps, coins, bottles, and baskets. When she was younger she enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Sue had a love for true country music, working on geneology and historical projects. For 22 years, Sue was instrumental in Deppe Threshing Days. On Saturdays she looked forward to selling produce and baked goods at the Farmers Market. Sue loved her animals and was an avid New York Yankees fan and a Nascar #88 fan. Sue belonged to the St. Donatus Luxembourg Heritage Society, St. Donatus Historical and Chamber, Bellevue Chamber, Jackson County Genealogy and Historical Society, NW Iowa Genealogy, Iowa Luxembourg Society, Luxembourg Society of MN., Luxembourg American Culture Society, IHC Chapter #5 of Iowa, IHC International World Wide Club, St. Joseph Parish Rosary Society, Five Seasons Jim Beam Bottle and International Jim Beam Bottle Club, Key City Geneaology Society, and Longaberger Collectors Basket Club. Those left to honor her memory include her sister, Cleta Deppe, of Bellevue, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Sue is preceded in death by her father in 2008 and mother in 2012, and aunts, uncles and cousins.
