Thomas H. Roling, 65, of Bellevue, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Thomas was born April 2nd, 1941 in Bellevue son of the late Gregory and Dorothy (Yeager) Roling. He married Arlene Gassman April 28th, 1962 at the St. Marys Catholic Church in Platteville, Wisconsin. She survives. Thomas was a farmer and had worked for John Deere as a forklift operator for 30 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers with John Deere. Tom enjoyed restoring antique tractors and riding them on the tractorade; a parade of tractors across various parts of Iowa. He also enjoyed Deer hunting. Most importantly he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Besides his loving wife Arlene Roling, of Bellevue his survivors include; three children, Jeff (Mindy) Roling of Baldwin, Mark (Cheri) Roling of Dubuque and Julie (Jeff) Krumenauer of Menomonie, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Jessica, Zachary, Taylor, Noah, Savanna and Dorothy; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Roling of DeWitt and Peg Weber of Bellevue. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and William Roling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 26th, 2006 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Bellevue. The Rev. Stephen Meyer will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 3-7 PM at the Kingery Funeral Home in Bellevue and again on Wednesday from 9:30 until the time of procession from the funeral home.
