Verna Mae Keil, 81, of Bellevue, died Tuesday morning, March 27, 2018, at Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. A Christian Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, March 29, at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue. Visitation for Verna Mae will be held Thursday morning prior to the service from 9:00 10:00 at the church. Arrangements are being handled by the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Bellevue.Verna Mae was born the last child of three on May 4, 1936, in Bellevue, Iowa, daughter of Christopher and Mabel (Eggers) Keil. Vernas father passed away at a young age; therefore, was very close to her mother. She lived with and took care of her until her passing in July of 1999. Verna was quiet and reserved yet still took an interest in others. She worked at ESKA in Dubuque for over 18 years. Verna enjoyed gardening, puzzles, playing cards and most importantly her faith and church. She also enjoyed eating at the Riverview Hotel in Bellevue. Those left to honor her memory include her sister in-law Dolores Keil, seven nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.Verna Mae is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Keil and sister, Mary Lou (Charlie) Schreiber, two special people she has missed dearly.
