Viola C. Aureden, 94, of Bellevue, peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Mill Valley Care Center. Funeral services for Viola will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue with Rev. Father Phillip Kruse officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday Evening from 4 to 7 pm at the Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, and again on Wednesday morning from 9:15 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Viola (Majerus) Aureden, daughter of Michael & Anna (Brehm) Majerus was born on August 28, 1919 in Sherrill, Iowa. She married Raymond M. Aureden on June 5, 1946. He passed away on July 2, 1994. Viola worked at the Battery Factory in Dubuque for many years during the war, she later was employed by the Dubuque Packing Company. A majority of her life she spent raising her family and helping her husband farm. Viola was a quiet, gentle person she loved family activities, and enjoyed spending free time tending to her garden and sewing. She will be deeply missed by all those who lives she had touched. Those left to honor her memory include her two children, Kenneth (Kathleen) Aureden, of Zwingle and Jean (Eugene) Monner, of Dubuque; four grandchildren, Brian (Tara), Michelle, Brandon, and Michael; two great grandchildren, Roxy, and Ike. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Martha Olinger, and Luella Aureden, and brother, Leroy Majerus.
