Viola Ann Roeder

Viola Ann Roeder, 97 formerly of Bellevue, died Wednesday October 28, 2009 at Northbrook Manor, in Cedar Rapids. Services will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 31, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellevue officiated by Fr. Stephen Meyer. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home. Viola Ann Till was born on March 28, 1912 in Bellevue, daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Herrig) Till. She married Clarence Roeder on October 9, 1933, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. He passed away in November of 1989. Viola was employed at the Big D Grocery Store in Bellevue for 10 years prior to her retirement in 1976. She enjoyed playing bingo, bridge and visiting casinos. Surviving are her children, Marcia (Elmer) Peters of Bettendorf, Iowa, C.J. (Marianne) Roeder of Washington Township, Mich., Randall (Nancy) Roeder of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Marla Jane (Stacy) Dalton of Newport, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Glen (Heather) and Brad Peters, Margo (Tom) Weih, Tracy (Jason) Maikrzek, Debbie (Gregg) Jordan, Rebecca (Marco) Ireland, Michael Squier, Kristina and Jennifer Roeder; 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, and son Brian; four brothers: Frank, Wilfred, Joseph, and Elmer Till; and four sisters: Clara Sieverding, Marcella Ernst, Margaret Doland, and Mary Louise Till.
