Virginia Ginny L. Meder, 72, of Bellevue, passed away, Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in Iowa City. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at 6:00pm Saturday evening, November 19th, at The Great River Gallery, 116 N Riverview in Bellevue, all friends and family are welcome. A visitation for Ginny will be held Saturday afternoon prior to the reception from 4:00 6:00pm at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue. Virginia was born May 5, 1944 in California to Stanley and Jeanettte (Sterling) Miller. She married Peter O. Meder on August 7, 1965 in Elkader. He passed away October 1, 2015. Ginny was the epitome of extravagantly simple. Beyond the mountains of Ouray Colorado, the scent of Laura Mercier's Cremé Brulee, and the occasional trip to Yonkers, there were few things that elevated her life more...except for, perhaps, fountain Diet Pepsi. She loved what she loved, especially her dogs, and didn't need to search for much else in life. While tiny in stature, she was the anchor of her family. Leaving little but laughter in the wake of her glamorous personality, we will miss her dearly.Virginia is survived by her two daughters, Jeanette Bautsch and Louise Meder, both of Bellevue, grandson, Brent Gerlach, of Madison, Wisconsin; and a brother John (Candice) Frankl. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; son in-law, Thomas Bautsch; and sister Diane Albrecht. The family would like to extend special thanks to a number of people and places that enriched Ginny's life: the Rolling's, the Pauly's, Charley Fondell, Ron Besch, Dave & Chad, Diane Michels, Karen and Butch Digman, Carrol Allen, Grandpa's Parlor, University Iowa Hospitals, Hachmann's Funeral Home, the San Juans, and the dogs: Schamu, Mocha, and Molly Marie.
