Vivian Ike Bormann, 95, of Bellevue, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Dubuque Specialty Care, Dubuque.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Springbrook. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Bellevue. Visitation for Ike will be held from 4:00 7:00 p.m. Friday, at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again, Saturday morning prior to Mass at the church. Ike was born on May 10, 1922 at his family home near Sugar Creek, son of John & Catherine (Trenkamp) Bormann. He married Bernice Kilburg on November 24, 1949 Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Springbrook. Ike attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Sugar Creek. In his earlier years, he worked at Clinton Engines, he also worked as an electrician and finally around 1960, he purchased the family farm and farmed most his life. Ike enjoyed farming very much, he liked working with animals and the land. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, watching the Cardinals and playing cards with relatives and neighbors. Ike and Bernice moved off the farm to town in November of 2012. Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 67 years, Bernice, of Bellevue; sister, Bertha (Cyril) Feller and five sisters in-law, Lucille Bormann, Millie Haxmeier, Marcy Roling, Ruth (Allen) Heiar, Jean Hoffmann and Velma Kilburg; and many nieces and nephews, who he was very proud of. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Leo, Jacob, Raymond, Victor, Richard, Sylvester and Norbert Bormann; and two sisters, Sally Wagemister and Theresa Klein.The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, the staff at Dubuque Specialty Care and the many family and friends that supported Ike through the years.Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hachmannfuneralhome.com
