Walter Nicholas Kilburg, 97, of Bellevue, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2006 surrounded by his family at the Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue. Walter was born February 17th, 1909 in Springbrook, son of the late Nick G. and Mary (Dondlinger) Kilburg. He married Eleanor Rubel on October 2nd, 1934. She survives. Walter was a farmer and previously worked for the city of Bellevue Street Department as well as for Jackson County. He was a member of the Bellevue Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife Eleanor, survivors include his children; Darwin (Barb Roeder) Kilburg, DeWitt, Mary Lois (Tom) Kueter, Peosta, Doris (Don) Medinger, Bellevue and Arla (Terry) Hodgkinson, Orlando, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Luella (the late Melvin) Kilburg; many other relatives and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters, Ben, Lester, Melvin, Art, Elmer, Clarence and Leola Ambrosy and Marlena Arensdorf; daughter-in-law Judy (Kueter) Kilburg and granddaughter, Tammy Kilburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 23rd, 2006 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Bellevue. The Rev. Stephen Meyer will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 pm at the Kingery Funeral Home in Bellevue and again on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of procession to church.
