William S. Pataska, 87 of Bellevue, died Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center, in Clinton. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 5 at St. John Lutheran Church; Bellevue officiated by Pastor Paul Gammelin. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Kingery~Lemke Funeral Home and again Monday at the church after 9:30 until service time. William was born on December 9, 1921 in Bellevue, son of Stanslaus and Edith (Marburger) Pataska. He married Marilyn Roe on September 22, 1945 in Junction City Kansas; she passed away June 2, 2007. William and his wife farmed for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, working and riding his 4-wheeler. He also enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends and family. He will be missed. Surviving are his five children, Dale (Judy) Pataska, of Miles, Rose (Dennis) Schlarmann, of Preston, Darrell (Ellen) Pataska, of Avon, Connecticut, Stanley (Rochelle) Pataska, of Sabula, and John (Olinda) Pataska, of Bellevue; 11 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons, Ronald and Donald. The family would like to thank the staff at Jackson County Regional Health Center for providing great care for dad.
