Harold Richard Keil, 85 of Bellevue, passed away, Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at his home surrounded by family. A Service of Christian Burial will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17 at St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue at a later date. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, also at St. John Lutheran Church. Harold was born on December 7, 1926 in Bellevue, son of Ardo and Elsie (Ehlers) Keil. He married Arlene Keil on March 19, 1951 in Palmyra, Missouri. He served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1947. Harold farmed the family farm all his life. Farming was important to him and he worked hard at it. Even after retirement he didnt miss a day going down to the farm to help his son Dennis. Harold was an outdoorsmen, he hunted deer, pheasants, ducks, and even rattlesnakes. Like his father Ardo, Harold had a passion for collecting Indian Artifacts. He was a devoted husband, grandfather and friend; he will be deeply missed by all. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Arlene Keil, of Bellevue; son Dennis (Carol) Keil, of Bellevue; daughter, Janis (David) Day, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two granddaughters Becky Keil, of Cedar Rapids and Katie (Jake Owens) Keil, of Jefferson City, Missouri; a brother, Roger Keil, of Bellevue, two sisters, Wilma Clausen, of Clinton and Shirley Hachmann, of Salida, Colorado.
