Katherine Ouderkirk Camper

Kathleen Kathy Ouderkirk Camper, 60, of Crestview, Florida, formerly of Bellevue, passed away Friday, May 26th, 2006 at her home. Kathleen was born December 12th, 1945 in Bellevue, daughter of Lester and Louise (Ehl) Dieckman of Bellevue. She attended Bellevue Public School and was a member of the Bellevue Public School Band. She enjoyed playing the trumpet and baritone horn as well as with the Community Band. She also played taps for Military Funerals. She was active in school activities and was president of her class when she graduated in 1964. She also was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and active in Sunday school, Jr. Lutherans and Luther League. She attended A.I.C. Business School in Davenport. She married Rodney Ouderkirk on January 30th, 1965. He survives. Kathy was employed at Aetna Insurance Company. Later she worked for Iowa & Illinois Gas and Electric Company. She attended classes at Scott Community College where she acquired an Associate Degree in computer science. She taught a computer class at Black Hawk College. And was a partner in a small business; Micro & Mini Computer System. She married Richard Camper Sr. on September 1st, 1989 they moved to Crestview, Florida in 1992. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Crestview. She and Richard were active in projects and activities at both of their churches. For many years she assisted her husband in his Santa Claus projects. Friends donated old teddy bears which she rehabilitated for nursing homes and childrens Christmas benefits. For many years she has suffered from a disabling illness. Survivors include her husband Richard Camper Sr., three sons, Kenneth (Robin) Ouderkirk, Evan Ouderkirk, Thomas (Sally) Ouderkirk, two grandsons, Brandon & Drew Ouderkirk, a step-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Holmberg, her Mother Louise Dieckman, Bellevue, brother William (Natalie) Dieckman, Camanche, Ia, Steven (Carol) Saddoris, Alburnett, nieces, Kimberly (Michael) Adams, Michelle Dieckman, Kelsey and Tonya Saddoris, nephew, John Saddoris, grandniece, Abigail Saddoris. One Aunt Arlene Matje of Sabula. Several step children and step grandchildren and many cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 5th, 2006 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Bellevue. Pastor Paul Gammelin will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30 until the time of services all at the church on Monday.
